Building Miami

This year has been a busy time for Miami developers. Several large projects are finishing up and new ones are coming on-line. We have been producing still and motion imagery for developer-clients for many years and continue to work on projects, large and small. Here are a couple of recent video projects we worked on.

These projects were produced by combining multiple still images and then output as 4k video for the final product.

Aston Martin Residences - Mega Pour.  Time-Lapse and drone aerials, short version.  This was used for PR and social media to announce the start of building.  Click here for the extended version.

Miami Skyline Metamorphosis - 1990 to 2019 (updated for the 2019 skyline). Single images merged and animated.
Fancy Dancer - Native American Pow Wow

Pow Wow

Earlier this year I had the good fortune to be able to participate in photographing a small Native American Pow Wow near my home in Central Florida.  I spent the day capturing dancers and portraits of participants in full regalia at the Thundering Spirit Family Pow Wow.  This is one of many similar small gatherings of Native Americans and their descendants across the country.
To start the events there is a grand parade spectacle of Indian Nations where the participants parade into the circle while dancing to the drum rhythms and dressed in full regalia that relates to their tribal affiliation.  The participants compete for prizes and recognition in dances such as The Grass Dance, Fancy Dance, or Jingle Dance.  The colors and atmosphere were captivating.  Of particular interest were the young participants showing the 21st-century sensibility in their costuming using modern materials and fabrics.  In this spiritual gathering of like-minded people, stereotypes were busted by some of the participants who didn't conform to a traditional appearance.  The requirements for participation are membership in a tribal nation based on heredity and the desire to sustain the traditions of their ancestors.  The largest Pow Wow in the country is the Gathering of Nations in Albuquerque New Mexico where the grand parade takes more than two hours to complete.

A 450 million-year-old medical miracle. These prehistoric creatures are a common sight on thebeaches of the North Atlantic Ocean. I found this one on the island of Nantucket.
